On Tuesday, the Special Collections Division of the University of St Andrews Library celebrated the hard work of four Lighting the Past cataloguers who will be leaving the team over the summer.

The project was established in 2013, and since then has led to the online cataloguing of about 53,000 rare books, the records of which can now be retrieved from SAULCAT by researchers the world over. In doing so, some otherwise unknown works of early printing have been unearthed, including 72 unique items from before 1800 to add to the English Short Title Catalogue.

Lighting the Past cataloguers are all students at the University of St Andrews who also form a vital part of the Special Collections team. Many thanks to Kieran Cressy, Emily Savage, Jordan Girardin and Emily Gal; they will be missed!
