Treasures of St Andrews University Library book now available
Special Collections have produced a book featuring 50 of the most important and intriguing items from the varied collections that we hold, including rare books, illuminated manuscripts, photographs and maps. Each item is accompanied by a short explanatory essay by an expert in the field, and suberb colour photographs. An introductory essay outlines the history of St Andrews University Library from its beginnings in a few medieval cathedral book presses to the modern hub of learning within an institution of international academic reputation. This volume is the first major publication in connection with the University’s 600th anniversary celebrations, and is availabe for purchase from the Library service desk and from the Department of Special Collections, price £15.
